Victoria pulled out several crisp white pages with official black seals stamped across them.
She held the papers high in the air so Eleanor and Sarah could see them.
Victoria: These are temporary emergency custody orders signed by a family court judge.
Sarah: That is impossible because no judge has ever heard a case about Lily.
Marcus: The judge signed it yesterday after reviewing our official petition forms.
Eleanor stood up slowly from her chair with her trembling hands reaching out forward.
Eleanor: Let me see those papers right now, Victoria.
Victoria: You do not need to read the fine details of court orders.
Eleanor snatched the top paper firmly out of Victoria's hand before she could react.
The older woman quickly adjusted her glasses to read the small black printed words.
Her face went completely pale as her eyes scanned the top heading of the paper.
Eleanor: This signature at the bottom is completely fake and forged!
Victoria: Give those official documents back to me immediately, Eleanor!
Victoria lunged forward and grabbed Eleanor by her shoulders with heavy force.
Eleanor stumbled backward onto the polished floor and cried out in sudden shock.
Eleanor: Ah! Help me, Sarah! She is trying to grab them!
Victoria: Your mother started this fight by grabbing court property from me!
Sarah heard her mother's desperate cry and turned around with wide, frantic eyes.
Sarah: Get away from my mother this instant, Victoria!
Victoria tried to pin Eleanor down to snatch the papers back from her fingers.
Marcus stood by the doorway and watched without making any move to stop Victoria.
Sarah: You just stood there and watched her attack an old woman!
Marcus: She brought this on herself by touching our legal custody papers!
Sarah rushed forward across the room with fast footsteps echoing against the floor.
She dropped down to her knees beside her mother on the hardwood.
Sarah: Take your hands off her right now or suffer the consequences!
Sarah pried Victoria's wrists away from Eleanor's arms with strong, steady force.
Victoria stumbled backward and glared at Sarah with pure rage in her eyes.
Victoria: You cannot stop us from taking what belongs to us today!
