Within one hour, two police cruisers arrived at the grand estate entrance.
The lead investigator spoke with Arthur inside the sunlit front parlor room.
Elena provided her clear statement regarding the late night study events witnessed.
She showed the officers the location of the forged document paper trails.
Victoria sat quietly on the sofa, her hands folded in her lap.
Her earlier arrogance had vanished, replaced by cold silence and defeat.
The lead officer stepped forward and presented the formal arrest warrant documentation.
Officer: Victoria Sterling, you are under arrest for corporate grand theft financial fraud.
Victoria stood up slowly as the officer placed metal handcuffs on her wrists.
She did not look at Arthur or Elena as she was led out.
The heavy front entrance doors closed behind the officers with a firm click.
A deep sense of peace finally returned to the vast marble foyer area.
Arthur walked over to the velvet chair and picked up his late wife's frame.
He walked up the grand staircase toward the bright third floor nursery room.
Elena followed at a respectful distance to check on baby Clara's needs.
Inside the sunny nursery, the infant slept peacefully inside her wooden crib.
Arthur placed the restored picture frame securely onto the nursery wall hook.
He looked at his daughter, then turned around to face Elena warmly.
Arthur: Elena, you saved more than just a portrait in this house today.
Elena: I only did what was right for this family, Mr. Sterling.
Arthur: From this day on, you are the primary estate household supervisor here.
Elena's eyes widened in complete surprise at his generous unexpected offer made.
Arthur: Your salary will be doubled, and your authority in this home total.
Elena: Thank you, sir, I am truly honored by your deep trust.
Arthur: You proved that loyalty and honesty are worth more than any wealth.
Elena smiled softly as she checked on the sleeping baby inside crib.
The sunlight poured brightly through the wide glass nursery windows above today.
The dark shadows of greed and deception had finally been cleared away entirely.
