Harris reached quickly toward the open desk drawer near his right hip.
Maya moved forward with incredible speed and slammed the drawer completely shut.
She grabbed his wrist with a tight grip that locked him in place.
Maya: Do not make another mistake that you will deeply regret.
Harris slumped down into his large leather chair with a pale face.
He realized his long streak of illegal personal profit had finally ended.
Deputy Harris: How did you find out about the accounts so fast?
Maya: When you starve your soldiers, the truth always comes out.
Two military police guards stepped into the room through the open doorway.
General Vance walked in right behind them with a solemn emotional expression.
General Vance: I am deeply disappointed in you, Harris.
Deputy Harris: General, please let me explain the situation to you.
General Vance: You can explain your actions to the military court judge.
The guards placed heavy metal handcuffs around Harris's wrists without delay.
They led the former deputy colonel away down the long bright corridor.
General Vance turned to Maya and shook her hand with deep gratitude.
General Vance: You restored honor to this base in record time, Maya.
Maya: The soldiers deserve leaders who truly care about their well-being.
Later that afternoon, Maya returned to the bright base mess hall again.
The room was filled with fresh, hot, high-quality meals for everyone.
The recruits ate together while laughing and talking in high spirits.
They looked up as Maya walked inside and gave her a standing ovation.
She smiled warmly at them and motioned for them to sit back down.
Maya: Enjoy your meals, soldiers, you earned them through hard work.
She picked up a tray and joined them at the metal tables.
The days of cruelty and corruption on the military base were gone.
She had proven that true leadership requires strength, fairness, and deep respect.
Maya sat amongst her unit, completely victorious and deeply satisfied with justice.
