The lead police officer stepped inside and looked around the spacious entrance hallway.
Officer Davis: Sir, we received a serious call regarding an attempted poisoning.
Mark: Yes, officer, my wife put toxic powder into my morning drink.
Victoria: That is a complete lie, officer!
Victoria: My husband and his daughter are making up stories to kick me out!
Mark: The spilled glass is right there on the kitchen floor.
Mark: And the bottle she used is sitting on the counter inside her bag.
The second officer walked carefully into the kitchen to inspect the scene.
He spotted the strange green liquid and the small glass vial sitting nearby.
Officer Miller: We need to sample this liquid for lab testing immediately.
Officer Davis: Is there any security camera coverage in this home, sir?
Mark: Yes, the camera right above the archway recorded the entire event.
Mark pulled out his smartphone and opened the security system mobile application.
He played the live video clip showing Victoria pouring green powder into his cup.
The officer watched the clear video with a serious, frowning face.
Officer Davis: Victoria, you are under arrest for attempted murder.
Victoria: No! You cannot do this to me!
Victoria: Mark, tell them to stop right now!
Mark: You brought this on yourself, Victoria.
Mark: You will never step foot inside this house ever again.
The officer handcuffed Victoria carefully behind her back as she wept loudly.
She was led out the front door and placed into the back of the police cruiser.
The loud sirens faded slowly into the distance as the car drove away down the street.
Mark turned back toward the house and closed the front door firmly shut.
The deep danger that had hung over their home was finally gone for good.
He looked down at his young daughter, who stood waiting in the hallway.
