Restoring The Vance Family

Six months later, the Vance mansion upper balcony was bathed in warm afternoon sunshine. The pristine white walls gleamed, and the framed American flag decor hung proudly above the grand atrium below.

Down in the bright living area, colorful infant toys were neatly arranged near a plush rug. Clara sat in a comfortable armchair near the French balcony doors, cradling a beautiful baby girl in a pink blanket. Lucas stood beside her, holding two glasses of fresh lemonade.

Lucas: Here you go, CEO. You need to stay hydrated before the board meeting this afternoon.

Clara: *Laughing softly* Stop calling me that! You're the one running the daily software operations!

Lucas: Hey, the board voted unanimously last week. You own fifty-one percent of the stock. You're the boss.

Maria walked into the sunlit room carrying a tray of fresh fruit, a bright smile on her face.

Maria: Miss Clara, the estate lawyers just sent over the final documents. The court has officially stripped Evelyn of all trustee power, and her prison sentence was finalized at twenty years without parole.

Clara: Thank you, Maria. And thank you for staying with us and managing the house. I couldn't have done any of this without you.

Maria: It is my honor, Miss Clara. This house finally feels like a real home now.

Little Grace cooed in Clara's arms, her tiny hands reaching up toward the bright sunlight streaming through the balcony doors.

Lucas: Look at her... she has Dad's eyes.

Clara: She really does. I wish he were here to see her.

Lucas: He is here, Clara. In this house, in this family, and in everything we're going to build together from now on.

Clara looked out over the grand atrium, remembering the moment of terror when she thought her life was ending on that marble floor. But as she looked at her brother and her daughter, she knew the dark days were officially over.

Clara: We reclaimed our family, Lucas.

Lucas: *Smiling warm and proud* Yes, we did, sister. Yes, we did.
