Eleanor: I did what was necessary to protect the Sterling family empire! Your father was dying, and you were too young and soft-hearted to see through that waitress's pathetic story!
Julian: She wasn't a story, Eleanor! She was carrying my child! My eldest son and the rightful primary heir to my father's original trust fund!
Eleanor: That trust fund belongs to the company, not to some bastard child raised in the gutters!
Toby: I am not a bastard! My mom loved me! She worked every single day to feed me while you sat in this big room stealing our lives!
Toby stepped forward boldly, his small chest heaving with deep emotion as he pointed his finger directly at the wealthy matriarch.
Toby: My mom kept every single paper you sent her. She kept them in a tin box under her bed! The threat letters from your lawyers, the fake eviction notices, all of it!
Julian: What tin box, Toby? Where is it now?
Toby: It's in my backpack, Dad. Mom told me if anyone tried to call me a liar, I should give the green folder inside to a judge.
Eleanor stood up so fast her heavy leather chair tipped over backward, crashing against the floorboards.
Eleanor: Security! Grab that backpack right now! He is carrying stolen corporate documents!
The two private security guards Eleanor brought with her stepped forward, moving aggressively toward Toby.
Julian: Marcus! Stop them!
Julian’s head of security and three building guards immediately drew their tasers, blocking Eleanor’s men before they could reach the children.
Marcus: Step back, gentlemen. You are in Mr. Sterling's building now, not Mrs. Sterling's estate.
Eleanor: You insolent fools! I pay your salaries! I run this board!
Julian: Not anymore, Eleanor. You used company trust funds to pay illegal hush money to drive a pregnant woman out of the state. That is extortion, fraud, and embezzlement of estate funds.
Eleanor: You can't prove a single dollar came from the family account!
Toby unzipped his worn canvas backpack and pulled out a faded green folder held together by thick rubber bands. He handed it directly to Julian.
Toby: Here, Dad. Mom saved every check stub and lawyer letter with her signature on them.
Julian pulled off the rubber bands and opened the folder. Inside were official letterheads from Eleanor’s personal legal team, along with carbon copies of monthly payments sent from the Sterling Foundation bank account, explicitly demanding Margaret’s silence in exchange for not taking her baby away at birth.
Julian: Look at this, Eleanor. Signed by your personal attorney, stating that if Margaret ever returned to Illinois, you would use your influence to have child protective services take Toby away permanently.
Eleanor: She was poor! She couldn't give him a proper life anyway!
Julian: You kept him in poverty! You let my son starve while you spent millions of his grandfather's inheritance on luxury mansions and European vacations!
The heavy boardroom door opened, and a man in a black suit carrying a leather briefcase walked in swiftly.
Divorce Lawyer: Julian, I got your urgent message. What's going on here?
Julian: Arthur, take a look at these documents. My stepmother committed grand fraud and child extortion using our family estate accounts ten years ago.
The lawyer put on his reading glasses and scanned the top three papers in the folder. His eyes widened in absolute shock.
Arthur: My God, Julian... This isn't just a civil estate dispute. This is a federal felony. She used registered trust accounts to execute blackmail across state lines.
Eleanor: Arthur, you work for the Sterling family! I hired you five years ago!
Arthur: I work for Julian Sterling, Mrs. Sterling. And as the legal officer of this estate, I am legally obligated to report this evidence to the State Attorney General immediately.
Eleanor: You wouldn't dare... My social standing! The news reporters! It will destroy our brand stock value!
Julian: I don't give a damn about the stock value, Eleanor. You stole nine years of my son's life, and you let the woman I loved die without medical care.
Julian turned to Marcus with a cold, unforgiving look in his eyes.
Julian: Marcus, call the police. Tell them we have a corporate criminal ready for arrest in the penthouse boardroom.
