David walked into the grand foyer accompanied by his seven-year-old daughter, Lily.
They had just returned from Lily's after-school music lesson and were laughing together happily.
The sudden screaming from the upper balcony caught David's attention immediately.
Lily looked up and saw Chloe standing over her grandmother with an angry face.
Lily: Daddy! Look up at the top of the stairs!
David: What is going on up there right now?
Lily: Chloe was shouting at Grandma and took her walking cane!
David's expression instantly changed from joy to deep concern and growing anger.
He dropped his leather briefcase onto the floor and took quick steps toward the staircase.
Chloe: Don't listen to that child, David! She is lying!
Lily: I am not lying! I saw her take Grandma's cane!
Sarah helped Evelyn sit down safely on a plush armchair near the upper balcony railing.
Sarah: Mrs. Vance is shaking, Mr. David, please hurry up!
David rushed up the flight of stairs, his heavy shoes echoing on the marble steps.
Chloe quickly tried to smooth down her gold gown and put on a fake smile.
Chloe: David, darling, I was just trying to help your mother downstairs.
David: Is that why her cane is laying twenty feet away from her?
Chloe: She dropped it herself! She is getting too forgetful to live here!
Evelyn: That is not true, David. She demanded I sign over the house.
David stood tall, staring down at Chloe with total disbelief and rising anger in his eyes.
David: You tried to manipulate my mother in my own house?
Chloe: She is lying to you, David! You must trust me!
Lily ran up the stairs behind her father, holding a small digital tablet in her hands.
Lily: Daddy, look at the security camera application on my tablet!
