Within five minutes, the front doors of the Dallas estate opened wide. Two uniform security guards stepped into the foyer. They immediately stood on either side of Victoria, holding her firmly by her elbows as she struggled to stand up on her slippery heels.
Victoria: Let go of me! Do you know how much this dress costs? You can't treat me like this!
Guard: Ma'am, please step outside peacefully, or we will hand you over to the Dallas Police Department.
Victoria: Daniel! Tell them to stop! We can talk about this in private!
Daniel did not even look at her. He walked over to his sister, took a clean white towel from a side table, and gently draped it around Clara's wet shoulders. He looked deeply ashamed of how he had brought such a cruel woman into their home.
Daniel: I am so sorry, Clara. I had no idea she was capable of acting like this.
Clara: You don't need to apologize, Daniel. You didn't know her true nature until today. Be thankful we found out before you signed that legal contract.
Victoria: You tricked me! Both of you tricked me!
Daniel: Nobody tricked you, Victoria. My sister was simply working in her own house, and you treated her like trash because you thought you were better than her.
The guards escorted Victoria out the grand double doors, her screaming voices echoing across the front lawn until the doors slammed shut. The foyer was silent once again, except for the quiet sound of dripping water.
Clara pulled the towel tighter around her wet uniform and looked at her brother. She could see the hurt and disappointment in his eyes, but she also saw relief. He had narrowly escaped marrying someone who loved money far more than she respected human beings.
Clara: Go upstairs and get changed, Daniel. We have a business meeting at two o'clock, and we need to revise your estate documents.
Daniel: Yes, Clara. Thank you for opening my eyes today.
