Packing Up The Memories

She Yelled At My Child So We Left Forever

Mark walked over to the coat rack near the front entryway.

He grabbed Sarah's heavy winter coat and his own leather jacket off the hooks.

Brenda followed him into the foyer with her arms crossed tightly over her teal dress.

Brenda: Go ahead and run away like you always do when things get tough!

Mark: Protecting my wife and child from your bitter behavior is not running away.

Sarah: We just wanted a peaceful holiday together as a family.

Brenda: You ruined this dinner the moment you walked through the door!

Grandfather walked into the hallway with a look of deep sorrow on his face.

Grandfather: Mark, son, please do not leave over a silly argument.

Mark: Dad, it is not a silly argument when she frightens my toddler like that.

Sarah: Lily was terrified, and Brenda offered no apology whatsoever.

Brenda: I have nothing to apologize for to a two-year-old child!

Mark helped Sarah put on her warm winter coat while keeping Lily safe.

The small child held onto Sarah's sweater with her tiny hands.

Mark wrapped his strong arm around Sarah's shoulders protectively.

Mark: We are leaving now, Dad, and we will talk to you later on.

Grandmother: Please stay for dinner, we prepared everything for you!

Mark: I cannot eat at a table where my family is disrespected.

He opened the heavy wooden front door to reveal the bright daylight outside.

The cold winter air rushed into the warm entry hall immediately.

Brenda stood watching them with an angry glare as they stepped outside.
