The living room was quiet once again as the police car left.
Mark walked over to his wife and wrapped his arms around her.
He kissed baby Lily gently on her soft forehead with immense love.
The dark heavy tension in the house slowly began to disappear.
Mark: I am so sorry I let her in the house at all.
Sarah: You wanted to believe she changed, that is natural Mark.
They cleaned up the overturned chair and settled back near the fire.
The warm festive food on the table was still slightly warm inside.
Sarah placed baby Lily back into her safe, adjusted high chair seat.
The little girl giggled again as Mark picked up her toy monkey.
Mark: Let's enjoy our baby's very first Christmas evening together now.
Sarah: That is the best holiday present we could ever ask for.
Mark gathered the fraudulent legal documents from the table very carefully.
He placed them inside a safe drawer to give to their lawyer.
He knew that Brenda would have to face full legal justice now.
No longer would her lies shadow their family's bright happy future.
The soft holiday music continued playing warmly from the kitchen speakers.
Outside, the falling snow covered all the heavy footsteps on the lawn.
They sat down together as a real family bound by deep love.
The bright colorful tree lights reflected warmly in their peaceful eyes.
Mark: We will always protect our home and our sweet little daughter.
Sarah: Always, no matter what challenges come across our path ahead.
They raised their glasses in a silent toast to safety and peace.
The evening ended not in disaster, but in strong family love.
Little Lily fell asleep peacefully in her mother's soft warm lap.
The house was filled with real security, warmth, and quiet light.
Justice had been served, and their home was safe once again.
