A New Realm Of Power

Three months later, Clara stood at the top floor window of Montgomery Enterprises' downtown skyscraper.

The city skyline stretched out below her under a clear blue sky.

Her face had healed completely, leaving no trace of the scratches or cuts from that terrible night.

Mr. Harrison walked into her private corner office, carrying a finalized legal folder.

Lawyer: Good afternoon, CEO Montgomery. I have the trial updates from the county courthouse.

Clara: Did Ethan accept the plea bargain offer from the prosecutor?

Lawyer: Yes. He pleaded guilty to felony assault and corporate wire fraud to avoid a maximum sentence.

Clara: How many years did the judge give him?

Lawyer: Twelve years in a maximum-security state prison without eligibility for early parole.

Clara: And what about Victoria?

Lawyer: She was sentenced to eight years for fraud and conspiracy. Her Malibu beach house and Manhattan penthouse were both sold at public auction yesterday.

Clara: How much did the auction raise?

Lawyer: Fifteen million dollars. The entire amount has been deposited directly into your father's youth education charity fund.

Clara: Perfect. That money will build five new community centers across the city.

Lawyer: The press is outside requesting an official statement regarding the company’s quarterly record profits.

Clara: Tell them Montgomery Enterprises is stronger than it has ever been in its entire history.

Lawyer: The board members are extremely impressed with your leadership over these past three months, Clara.

Clara: They shouldn't be surprised. I was raised by the man who built this entire empire from scratch.

Marcus, her private driver, knocked lightly on the open office door.

Marcus: Excuse me, Miss Clara. Your car is waiting downstairs for the city charity gala tonight.

Clara: Thank you, Marcus. Is the new champagne tower display set up at the venue?

Marcus: Yes, ma'am. And this time, nobody will be kicking it over.

Clara laughed softly, picking up her designer handbag from the glass desk.

She looked down at her sleek black evening gown, perfectly tailored and spotless.

She walked out of her office with her head held high, stepping into the private elevator.

Ethan and Victoria had tried to crush her, break her spirit, and take everything her family owned.

Instead, they had only awakened the unstoppable force inside her.

As the elevator descended toward the ground floor, Clara knew her life was finally completely her own.
