The Paper She Signed

His Missing Wife Was Forced To Sign Over Everything Today

The quiet room felt full of heavy tension as David stared down his stepmother.

Victoria did not flinch, keeping her arrogant smile fixed on her face.

Victoria: You always were overly dramatic, David.

David: You trapped my wife and stole her legal rights while I was defending our country.

Ricardo: The signed agreement is completely valid under state law, Captain Vance.

David: A document signed under threat and lock is worthless in a court of law.

Ricardo pulled out a golden pen and tapped it against his leather folder.

Ricardo: Good luck proving coercion without any witnesses to back your claim.

Elena wiped a fresh tear from her pale cheek and reached for David's hand.

Elena: They made me sign the paper before they would give me back my medicine.

David's jaw set tight as he heard those cruel words.

David: You kept her life-saving prescription from her?

Victoria: She was being stubborn about your father's grand inheritance.

David: My father left the estate to me and Elena in his final official will.

Victoria: Your father was weak in his final months, David.

David: He trusted me to keep this family safe from people like you.

Ricardo moved closer to the bed and reached out to pick up the signed papers.

David stepped firmly between the lawyer and the bedside table.

David: Do not touch those papers.

Ricardo: Those belong to my client's legal defense fund now.

David: Step back before I remove you from this house myself.

Ricardo paused, looking at David's broad military frame with sudden hesitation.

Victoria: Come along, Ricardo, let him throw his little temper tantrum.

Victoria: The mortgage on this mansion is already in my name now anyway.

Elena: David, please don't let them take everything we built together.

David bent down and kissed his wife gently on her forehead.

David: Nobody is taking anything from us, sweetheart.

Victoria turned on her high heels and began walking down the corridor.

Victoria: You have twenty-four hours to pack your bags and leave my property.

David: We are not going anywhere, Victoria.

Ricardo: Then the police will escort you off the premises for trespassing tomorrow morning.

The two villains walked away, their heavy steps echoing on the marble floor.

David immediately closed the heavy bedroom door and slid the lock shut.

He sat on the mattress next to Elena and took her cold hands in his own.

Elena: I was so scared, David.

David: You are safe now, and I am going to make this right.
