Arthur: Somebody call an ambulance right now!
Victoria: Oh, calm down, Arthur! She was being clumsy on her high heels and slipped!
Clara: She... she pushed me, Arthur... she shoved me with both hands...
Victoria: That is a complete lie! Why would I push you? You stumbled because you couldn't handle the stairs in your condition!
Julian: Exactly, brother. You shouldn't make wild accusations against Victoria when your wife clearly lost her footing.
Arthur kept one hand gently supporting Clara's head while his other hand reached into his jacket pocket, pulling out his smartphone with a cold, steady focus.
Arthur: I told you two weeks ago, Julian... if you ever came near my wife again, I would destroy you.
Julian: You think you scare me, Arthur? Father left me in charge of the family trust fund before he passed away! You have no power in this house!
Victoria: Look at her, trying to make a dramatic scene in front of our gala guests! She's doing this on purpose to ruin our family reputation!
Clara: Arthur... please... the pain...
Arthur: Hang on, sweetie. Paramedics are two minutes away. Just keep looking at me, okay?
The crowd of wealthy guests around the foyer balcony began whispering nervously, their eyes moving between the bleeding woman on the floor and the smug couple standing on the stairs. Victoria crossed her arms, leaning against the wooden railing in her red dress without a single shred of remorse.
Victoria: Let her cry all she wants, Arthur. When the police come, it will be her word against mine and Julian's. Who do you think they will believe? A woman who married into the family six months ago, or the legal heirs to the Sterling estate?
Arthur: You really think you're untouchable, don't you, Victoria?
Victoria: I know I am. My mother built this estate with our father. Clara is just a temporary disruption, and now she knows her place.
Julian: Give it up, Arthur. Sign the paperwork to hand over your remaining shares in the logistics firm, and we might pay for her hospital bill tonight.
Arthur: I am not signing anything, Julian. But you two are going to sign a confession before the night is over.
Victoria: A confession for what? An accident? You are delusional!
Siren lights began flashing red and blue through the large glass windows of the grand foyer, casting long shadows across the white marble floor. Two paramedics carrying a stretcher rushed through the front doors, followed closely by four uniformed police officers.
Paramedic: Sir, please step back so we can evaluate her immediately!
Arthur: She was pushed from the top landing. Check her vitals and her stomach right now!
Police Officer: Who is in charge of this property?
Victoria: I am, Officer! This woman had a terrible fall down our staircase because she was wearing improper footwear. My stepbrother is making false claims against my family!
Arthur: Officer, don't listen to a single word coming out of her mouth. She pushed my pregnant wife intentionally.
Julian: Officers, my sister is telling the truth. I was standing right beside her on the balcony. Clara tripped over her own dress.
Arthur: Is that your final story, Julian? You stand by her statement that it was an accident?
Julian: I stand by facts, Arthur. And the fact is, you have no proof.
