Her Stepmother Poured Soup Over The Maid In The Hallway

The bright morning sun poured through the floor-to-ceiling windows of the Dallas estate, reflecting off the polished white marble floors. Victoria stood in the center of the grand hallway, her white designer suit looking crisp and spotless against the pristine walls. Beneath her, kneeling on the cold floor, was Maya, the home's young maid. Maya wore a simple grey uniform, her hands trembling as she wiped at the floor with a small towel.

Victoria: THIS TASTES TERRIBLE! CLEAN IT UP AND MAKE ME A FRESH ONE!

Victoria tipped the heavy ceramic bowl in her hand, dumping thick, boiling yellow soup directly over Maya's head. The hot liquid splashed over the maid's face, neck, and uniform, trickling down her cheeks and dripping onto the white floor.

Victoria: Look at you. You can't even get a simple bowl of soup right!

Maya: *Sobbing* Please... please, Miss Victoria! It's too hot!

Victoria: Shut up! You're lucky I even let you stay in this mansion after what you did!

Victoria held the empty ceramic bowl tightly in her right hand, her face twisted in pure rage as she scowled down at the shivering woman. Maya crumpled toward the floor, her shoulders shaking violently as tears mixed with the warm soup running down her face.

Maya: PLEASE... MY BABY!

Victoria: Don't you dare bring up that child in this house!

Maya: *Weeping* Where is my daughter?! You told me she was safe! Please, just let me see her!

Victoria: Your daughter is gone, Maya! You surrendered your rights the day you signed those custody papers!

Suddenly, the heavy mahogany double front doors swung open with a loud thud, echoing across the grand foyer. Brandon rushed into the hallway, his black suit jacket open and his face pale with worry. He had just returned from an urgent trip across town, but the sight in front of him made his heart stop dead in his chest.

Victoria: DARLING, IT'S NOT WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE!

Brandon: What are you doing to her?! What is going on here?!

Brandon: YOU TOLD ME SHE LEFT US! YOU TOLD ME SHE LOST OUR BABY!

Maya looked up through her tear-filled eyes, her face covered in yellow soup as she gasped in physical pain and deep emotional distress, watching the man she thought had abandoned her step into the light of the hallway.
