The Call To The Sheriff

Her Stepmother Hurt The Baby While Her Husband Was Away

Victoria: Put that phone down, Marcus! Think about our family reputation!

Marcus: Yes, operator? I need emergency police units at the Vance estate on Oakridge Lane immediately.

Victoria: Marcus, stop! We can handle this privately! I'll go to therapy! I'll move into the guest house!

Marcus: My wife has been physically abusing my nine-month-old infant and assaulting our house staff. I have photographic evidence and a written confession.

Victoria: You traitor! You're destroying our marriage over a maid and a crying brat!

Marcus: Dispatch officers right away. She is hostile and dangerous.

Marcus ended the call, placing the phone back inside his suit jacket. Victoria stared at him, her eyes wide with unbelievable rage as her satin dress rustled against the floor.

Victoria: You think you can just hand me over to the police? I am a co-owner of this mansion!

Marcus: You signed a prenuptial agreement three years ago, Victoria. Do you remember what section four states?

Victoria: I don't care about your stupid prenup!

Marcus: Section four clearly states that any spouse charged with a felony crime against a family member forfeits all rights to estate assets, trust funds, and spousal support.

Victoria: My father is the head partner at the city's largest law firm! He will destroy you in court!

Marcus: Your father is a honorable man, Victoria. When I show him these photos of his grandson, he won't even accept your phone call from jail.

Victoria: You ruined my life! I gave up my career in New York to move into this miserable mansion with you!

Sarah: You didn't give up anything, Mrs. Victoria! You spent his money on private jets and designer clothes while leaving this baby in dirty diapers for six hours at a time!

Victoria: Shut up, Sarah! You're a worthless servant!

Sarah: I may be a servant, but I actually love this child! You are nothing but a monster in a satin gown!

Victoria lunged forward suddenly, raising her manicured hand to strike Sarah across the face again. But Marcus stepped right into her path, catching her wrist mid-air with an iron grip.

Marcus: Touch her again, Victoria, and I won't wait for the sheriff to take you down.

Victoria: Let go of my arm! You're hurting me!

Marcus: Now you know how my son feels when you grab him.

Marcus shoved her hand back, sending Victoria stumbling backward against the white column near the American flag. Outside, the wailing sounds of police sirens began echoing down the long private driveway.
