A New Role In The Mansion

Her Stepmother Dropped Her Child Until Her Father Arrived

David pulled out a pen, writing down a note inside the legal folder before closing it firmly.

David: "Elena, effective immediately, you are no longer the maid of this house."

Elena: "Sir? Are you firing me?!"

David: "No, Elena. I am promoting you. I want you to be Lily's official full-time guardian and estate manager."

Elena: "Estate manager?"

David: "You will oversee the entire household staff, manage our daily schedule, and look after Lily. Your salary will be three times what you are making now."

Elena: "Mr. Vance... three times?! I... I don't know what to say!"

David: "And as for your mother's medical bills, my family trust will cover every single dollar of her treatment."

Tears welled up in Elena's eyes again, but this time they were tears of overwhelming relief and gratitude.

Elena: "Mr. Vance... you don't have to do that! That is too much!"

David: "You saved my daughter's life today, Elena. No amount of money can ever repay that. You treated Lily like your own child when her stepmother tried to hurt her."

Lily: "Yay! Elena gets to stay with us forever!"

Lily jumped off the sofa and ran over to Elena, wrapping her small arms tightly around the woman's waist.

Lily: "Thank you for catching me, Elena."

Elena: "I will always catch you, sweetie. I promise."

David smiled warmly as he watched them hug. For the first time in months, the heavy, toxic atmosphere inside the Dallas mansion had lifted, replaced by warmth and genuine trust.

David: "Now, Elena, go change out of that maid uniform. We are going out for a family lunch to celebrate."

Elena: "Yes, Mr. Vance. Thank you so much!"

As Elena walked upstairs to change her clothes, David took out his phone to call his chief legal counsel, Arthur Vance, to prepare for the upcoming trial against Victoria.

Arthur: "David? I just saw the news report. Is Lily okay?"

David: "Lily is completely fine, Arthur. The maid caught her before she hit the floor."

Arthur: "Thank God. What about Victoria?"

David: "She is sitting in a police cell right now. I want you to push for the absolute maximum sentence possible."

Arthur: "Attempted felony child endangerment with video evidence in Texas carries up to twenty years in prison. She won't be getting out anytime soon."

David: "Good. Make sure she doesn't get a single penny from the annulment."

Arthur: "Consider it done, David."
