The Poolside Family Feud

Her Rich Stepmother Tried To Take Her Son Away

The bright afternoon sunlight poured into the glass hallway of the grand mansion.

Victoria adjusted her navy suit coat as she walked quickly toward the indoor pool area.

Her heart beat fast because she knew her former stepmother was holding a secret meeting.

Eleanor stood near the edge of the water wearing an expensive beige designer outfit.

She held a thick stack of legal papers while staring cold toward the glass door.

Beside her stood seven year old Leo, who looked nervous and held a red toy car.

Victoria stopped right in her tracks when she saw how close Leo was to the deep water.

Victoria: Eleanor, get away from my son right now!

Eleanor turned her head slowly and offered a very cold and artificial smile.

Eleanor: You are late for our meeting, Victoria.

Victoria: Do not use my child as leverage in your legal games.

Eleanor: This estate belongs to Arthur, and so does this child's future.

Leo backed away slowly, but his foot tripped on the wet pool tile near the corner.

He lost his balance and fell backward directly into the water with a heavy splash.

Victoria did not hesitate for even a single second as she ran forward across the deck.

She dove straight into the water without taking off her suit jacket or her heavy shoes.

The cold pool water surrounded her as she kicked hard toward the bottom of the pool.

She wrapped her strong arms around Leo and pulled him up toward the surface safely.

Both of them broke through the surface of the water gasping loudly for fresh air.

Victoria lifted Leo onto the smooth marble floor before pulling herself out of the pool.

She wrapped her arms tightly around her shivering son while holding him close to her chest.

Victoria: I have got you, my baby!

Victoria: You are completely safe with me now.

Leo sobbed softly into her wet jacket while holding tightly onto her suit lapel.

Heavy wooden cane strikes sounded against the marble floor from the doorway behind them.

Grandfather Arthur walked into the room with a stern expression across his wrinkled face.

Eleanor stepped beside him, crossing her arms with a look of smug satisfaction.

Grandfather Arthur: You are creating a public scene in my house, Victoria.

Victoria: Your house almost caused my child to drown today!

Eleanor: He tripped because you shouted and startled him, Victoria.

Victoria: You pushed him toward the edge on purpose, Eleanor!

Victoria stood up quickly, dripping pool water all over the expensive Italian tile floor.

Her jaw was clenched tight as she stepped directly into Arthur's path with pure rage.

Victoria: Do not take another step toward my boy!

Grandfather Arthur: You will respect the head of this family!

Victoria: Respect is earned, and you have lost every bit of it today.

She slammed her hand down against the nearby wooden display table with immense force.

A decorative ceramic vase wobbled and fell onto the floor, shattering into small pieces.

Arthur stepped back in shock, clutching his walking cane with visible panic in his eyes.

Victoria turned her gaze toward Eleanor, who suddenly looked far less confident than before.

Victoria: Touch my child again, and I will destroy everything you own!

Eleanor: You will pay for this disrespect, Victoria!

Victoria: Try me, Eleanor, and see what happens to your precious trust fund.
