Richard: "DNA results? Sarah ran a test before she died?"
Clara: "Yes, Mr. Sterling. She knew she was sick, and she knew Victoria was trying to get close to you while she was in the hospital."
Victoria: "She's lying! She's making it up! She probably forged the papers!"
Clara: "I have the sealed documents inside my quarters, sir. Mrs. Sterling wanted you to know the truth about the twins... and about Victoria."
Richard looked down at his daughter Lily, who was still holding the smartphone tight in her small hands. He reached out and took the twins back into his arms, holding them close.
Richard: "Lily, take your sisters into the kitchen. Stay with the nanny until I come get you."
Lily: "Okay, Daddy. Don't let her hurt Clara."
Richard: "I won't, sweetheart. Go ahead."
Lily nodded quickly and carried her phone into the adjacent dining room, followed by the household nanny who had just rushed down the hallway. Once the children were out of sight, Richard turned back to Clara.
Richard: "Bring me the envelope, Clara."
Clara: "Yes, Mr. Sterling. Right away."
Clara hurried down the grand corridor toward the staff quarters, her feet moving fast across the marble. Victoria scrambled to her feet, wiping her burgundy dress and trying to fix her messed-up dark hair[cite: 1].
Victoria: "Richard, you can't believe a word that maid says! She's trying to ruin our relationship so she can keep her job!"
Richard: "Our relationship ended the second I saw you push a stroller down my stairs."
Victoria: "I was stressed! I haven't been sleeping well! You've been spending all your time with those babies and ignoring me!"
Richard: "They are my daughters, Victoria! They lost their mother six months ago!"
Victoria: "And I offered to be their mother! I offered to run this house with you! I deserve respect in this mansion!"
Richard: "You tried to break their necks on a wooden staircase!"
Clara returned to the foyer holding a thick, cream-colored envelope sealed with red wax. She walked up to Richard and handed it directly to him.
Clara: "Here it is, sir. Unopened, just as Mrs. Sterling gave it to me."
Richard broke the red wax seal with his thumb and pulled out the white papers inside. His eyes scanned down the certified lab document from the medical center.
Richard: "The DNA paternity match is 99.9%. These twins are my biological daughters."
Victoria: "That's... that's impossible..."
Richard: "And there's a second document here, Victoria. A medical report from the clinic's private security team."
Victoria froze, her breath catching as her eyes filled with fear.
Richard: "It says here that seven months ago, someone bribed an IVF technician to swap the embryo samples during Sarah's final treatment."
Clara: "Mrs. Sterling caught her, sir. She found out Victoria paid twenty thousand dollars to try and stop the pregnancy from happening at all."
Richard: "You tried to destroy my family before my children were even born?!"
