Victoria: "Richard, wait! That's not what it looks like! The camera angle is bad!"
Richard: "BAD ANGLE?! I JUST SAW YOUR HAND PUSH THE STROLLER!"
Victoria: "It was an accident! I was trying to grab the handle because it was slipping!"
Richard: "YOUR HAND WAS FLAT ON THE BACK OF THE SEAT! YOU SHOVED IT!"
In a split second of uncontrollable fury, Richard lunged forward across the white marble floor. He struck Victoria hard across the shoulder, sending her tumbling backward. She let out a piercing scream as her heels slid across the polished stone, crashing heavily onto the marble floor at the foot of the stairs.
Victoria: "AAAAAHHH!"
Richard: "GET UP! GET UP AND EXPLAIN TO ME WHY YOU TRIED TO KILL MY DAUGHTERS!"
Victoria lay on the floor, clutching her hip as her eyes widened in complete terror. The cold mask of control she had maintained for months completely shattered.
Victoria: "Richard, please! Don't touch me! I'm your fiancée!"
Richard: "You are NOTHING to me! You tried to murder my newborn twins!"
Clara: "Mr. Sterling, please! Don't do this in front of the children!"
Clara quickly pushed herself up from the floor, stepping between Richard and Victoria to protect the little girl who stood holding the phone.
Richard: "Clara... my God... Clara, I am so sorry..."
Clara: "It's okay, sir. Just hold the babies. Keep them safe."
Victoria: "Richard, listen to me! I did it for us! I did it for our future!"
Richard: "OUR FUTURE?! ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND?!"
Victoria: "Those twins aren't yours, Richard! They were going to ruin everything!"
The entire mansion seemed to fall into a heavy, suffocating silence[cite: 1]. Richard stood frozen, his eyes wide as he stared down at the woman lying on the floor.
Richard: "What did you just say?"
Victoria: "You heard me! Sarah cheated on you before she died in that hospital! Those babies aren't your blood!"
Richard: "My late wife never lied to me! She loved me!"
Victoria: "She tricked you, Richard! She knew you wanted heirs for the Sterling estate and the family trust fund!"
Clara: "She is lying, Mr. Sterling! Do not listen to her!"
Victoria: "Shut up, you useless maid! You don't know anything about this family!"
Clara: "I know more than you think, Victoria. Because I was in the room when Mrs. Sterling took her final breath."
Richard turned his head toward Clara, his breath catching in his throat.
Richard: "Clara... what are you talking about?"
Clara: "Before your wife passed away six months ago, she gave me an envelope, Mr. Sterling. She told me to keep it hidden until the day Victoria tried to replace her."
Victoria's face drained of all color[cite: 1]. She tried to push herself up from the marble floor, but her hands slipped against the slick surface.
Victoria: "What envelope?! She didn't give you anything!"
Clara: "She gave me the lab results from the Dallas Fertility Clinic, sir. The official DNA test results."
