The Arrest In Golden Sequins

Chloe: Identity theft?! What identity theft?! I am Chloe Adams!

Detective Miller: Your real name is Sarah Jenkins, ma'am. You have three active warrants out of Florida for similar marriage fraud schemes involving wealthy real estate investors.

Arthur: Sarah Jenkins...? Her entire background check was faked?

Eleanor: My legal team ran her fingerprints through the national database three hours ago, Arthur. She’s been using stolen social security numbers for seven years.

Chloe: Eleanor! You ruined my life! I will destroy you! I swear to God I will destroy you!

The police officers grabbed Chloe’s arms, pulling her hands behind her back. The metallic click of handcuffs echoed sharply through the quiet dining room. Chloe thrashing violently in her gold gown, her styled hair falling across her face as she was pushed toward the center aisle.

Officer: Stop resisting, ma'am! Step forward!

Chloe: Arthur! Tell them to stop! You loved me! You can't let them take me to jail in front of all these people!

Arthur: Take her away, Officer. And make sure she never comes within five hundred yards of my family again.

Chloe: You coward! You pathetic, weak old man! You're nothing without your wife's money!

Guests pulled out their phones, video recording every single second of the disgraced socialite being escorted down the carpeted aisle in chains. The golden sequined dress, once meant to showcase her fake high-society status, now looked absurd as she was pushed through the front glass doors into a waiting police cruiser.

When the doors finally clicked shut, Arthur stood alone at the head table, looking down at the floral foam pad sitting among the spilled wine and broken crystal.

Arthur: Everyone... I owe you all a profound apology. Tonight was meant to be a celebration of our company, but instead, my personal arrogance brought shame to this room.

The board members sat in silence, looking up at Arthur with grave expressions.

Board Member 1: Arthur, this isn't just about personal shame. This woman almost had access to our primary credit lines.

Arthur: I know, Henry. And I take full responsibility for allowing her near the corporate accounts.

Eleanor: Arthur didn't give her access, Henry. She forged his signature on the proxy documents three weeks ago. My team has already filed the formal nullification papers with the court.

Arthur turned toward Eleanor, his eyes filled with a deep, painful realization of how close he had come to losing everything he had built.

Arthur: Eleanor... I don't even know what to say to you. I treated you terribly. I listened to a stranger over the woman who spent twenty years building this life with me.

Eleanor: You don't need to say anything to me right now, Arthur. We have a company to protect and a daughter to raise.
