The ball of paper struck Victoria's chest and bounced off her lace dress, landing near her bridal shoes.
She stared down at it, her face turning pale as all the color drained from her cheeks.
Victoria: That's... that's just a piece of trash. Why are you throwing paper at me?
Mark: Pick it up and read it out loud for everyone here to hear.
Victoria: I will do no such thing! This is ridiculous!
Victoria's mother, Eleanor, rushed up from the front row in a panic, her silk dress rustling.
Eleanor: Mark, control yourself! What is wrong with you? She is your bride!
Mark: Stay out of this, Eleanor, or you can leave with her right now.
Eleanor: How dare you speak to us like this! We spent thousands on this event!
Mark: I paid for every single cent of this wedding, and I am shutting it down.
Victoria bent down trembling, picking up the paper before anyone else could reach it.
Mark: Go ahead, read what you wrote to my seven-year-old daughter ten minutes ago.
Victoria: I didn't... I didn't write this! Someone is setting me up!
Mark: It's your handwriting, Victoria. You signed it at the bottom!
Lily: She gave it to me in my room, Daddy... she said I was going to Switzerland.
Whispers exploded through the crowd of guests like wildfire.
Guest 1: Did she try to send his daughter away?
Guest 2: Boarding school? Behind his back?
Victoria: Mark, listen to me! I did it for us! For our future!
Mark: So you admit you wrote it?
Victoria: She needs discipline! She's a distraction from our new life together!
Mark: She is my life! You were just supposed to be a part of it!
Victoria: You can't ruin our marriage over a bratty little kid!
Mark stepped forward, his eyes flashing with such intense fury that Victoria stumbled backward into her maid of honor.
