The Expose At The Hotel

Marcus: Miss Sterling, please step outside the doorway before I have to physically guide you out.

Jessica: Don't touch me! I am the bride!

Marcus: You are a trespasser in a private suite, ma'am. Move back.

Marcus stepped forward firmly, forcing Jessica back into the wide hallway where dozens of wedding guests were gathering in confusion.

Richard Sterling, a stout man in a expensive charcoal tuxedo, pushed his way through the crowd toward Tyler.

Richard: Tyler! What the hell is going on here?! The caterers are asking if they should start serving the dinner!

Tyler: Serve it to whoever you want, Richard. My family is leaving.

Richard: You can't just walk out on my daughter after signing our joint business agreement this morning!

Tyler: That business agreement had a character and reputational clause, Richard. Your daughter breached it ten minutes ago.

Richard: She apologized! What more do you want from a young girl on her wedding day?!

Tyler: She is twenty-six years old, Richard. She is not a child. She is a spoiled bully.

Victoria: How dare you call my daughter a bully in front of our friends!

Tyler: I'll call her worse if you keep yelling at my mother, Victoria.

Richard: Tyler, let's go into the office and discuss the financial terms. We can save the press coverage if we announce a delayed ceremony!

Tyler: There is no delayed ceremony. My legal team is filing for a complete termination of our joint venture at nine AM on Monday.

Richard: If you pull your funding, my firm will face a liquidity crisis by the end of the month!

Tyler: Then I suggest you start selling off your luxury cars to pay your creditors.

A female voice spoke up from the back of the crowd of guests.

Reporter: Mr. Vance! Is it true that Miss Sterling assaulted your mother prior to the walk down the aisle?

Jessica turned sharply toward the woman, her eyes wide with sudden panic.

Jessica: Sarah?! What are you doing with a recording phone?!

Reporter: I am covering the wedding for the Dallas Daily Column, Jessica. I caught the entire hallway incident on my camera.

Victoria: Delete that footage immediately! I will sue your newspaper for slander!

Reporter: It isn't slander if it's high-definition video footage, Mrs. Sterling. The whole city is going to see how you treat staff and family.

Jessica: Sarah, please! We were friends in high school! Don't run that story!

Reporter: You haven't spoken to me in five years unless you needed free publicity for your charity galas, Jessica. The story goes live in twenty minutes.

Richard Sterling covered his face with both hands, sinking against the wall as he realized his family's reputation in Dallas was completely destroyed.

Richard: You ruined us, Jessica... You ruined the entire family with your arrogance...

Jessica: Dad! It was Mom's idea to push Mrs. Vance out of the photo line!

Victoria: Don't you dare blame me for your own temper, Jessica!

Tyler: You two deserve each other. Marcus, escort my mother to the car now.

Tyler helped Clara stand up, keeping his arm wrapped tightly around her waist as they walked past the arguing Sterling family.

The guests parted down the center of the hall, whispering among themselves as they watched the wealthy groom walk away from his own million-dollar wedding.
