Two black police sedans pulled up outside the grand marble entrance, their red and blue lights flashing against the white pillars and the hanging American flag. Two uniformed officers stepped through the open doors into the bright foyer.
Officer Davis: Mr. Samuel Vance?
Samuel: Yes, Officer. Thank you for arriving so quickly.
Victoria: What is the meaning of this?! Officers, I am Victoria Vance! Escort these intruders off my property immediately!
Officer Davis: Ma'am, we have a warrant issued by the district attorney’s office for human trafficking, unlawful restraint, and financial fraud based on digital records submitted by your estate security team.
Victoria: Trafficking?! That is absurd! This is a domestic dispute between family members!
Officer Davis: Please step forward and keep your hands where we can see them, Mrs. Vance.
Victoria: Samuel! Tell them to stop! You are destroying this family name!
Samuel: You destroyed the family name the moment you treated human lives like disposable assets on a balance sheet.
The officers stepped forward, placing handcuffs on Victoria’s wrists. Her gold handbag dropped to the marble floor, spilling costly cosmetics and private documents across the stone.
Victoria: You'll regret this, Samuel! Without me, the board will strip you of your chairmanship by tomorrow afternoon!
Samuel: Let them try. I'd rather lose every dollar in the bank than spend another day living under your control.
Catherine: Goodbye, Victoria. May you reflect on your cruelty in the cold cell you prepared for me.
Victoria screamed curses as the officers escorted her out through the massive glass doors, her loud voice fading down the grand white staircase until the doors finally clicked shut.
The foyer fell into a profound, peaceful silence. The grand crystal chandeliers overhead seemed to shine clearer, no longer shadowed by decades of hidden secrets and corporate greed.
Thomas: Mr. Vance... the pediatrician is finishing up his examination upstairs. He says the baby is healthy, just undernourished, and will make a full recovery with proper care.
Samuel: Thank you, Thomas. Please inform the rest of the staff that Catherine is now the primary mistress of this estate. Her word is law here.
Thomas: Understood, sir. It is an honor to welcome you home, Miss Catherine.
Catherine: Thank you, Thomas. Thank you for saving us.
