Six months later, the sun shone brightly outside the county supreme courthouse. Clara walked down the stone steps wearing a tailored blazer, holding Ethan safely in a baby carrier. Richard walked by her side, holding her free hand tightly.
Behind them, police vehicles pulled up to the side entrance. Victoria was led out in an orange jumpsuit, heavy chains wrapped around her waist and ankles.
Victoria: "Richard! Clara! Look at me!"
Clara stopped at the bottom of the steps and turned around, looking straight at the woman who had once tried to ruin her life.
Victoria: "This is unfair! I was the victim of a bad medical clinic!"
Clara: "You weren't a victim, Victoria. You were greedy. You treated a human life like a bargaining chip."
Victoria: "You took my place in that mansion! You stole my life!"
Richard: "You threw your life away the day you threw our baby, Victoria. Enjoy the next twenty years in state prison."
Victoria: "You'll regret this! Both of you!"
The guard pushed Victoria into the back seat of the transport van, slamming the heavy metal door shut. The vehicle drove off down the street, its engine sound slowly fading into the city traffic.
Richard looked down at Clara and smiled softly, wrapping his arm around her shoulder.
Richard: "It's finally over. She'll never bother us again."
Clara: "We can finally give Ethan the life he deserves."
Richard: "A life with a mother who loves him."
Ethan let out a cute baby giggle in his carrier, reaching his tiny hands up toward the warm sunlight. Clara leaned her head against Richard's shoulder as they walked toward their car, ready to start their true chapter together as a family.
