The Wall Of Leather Vests

Bikers Protect Disabled Girl From Cruel Street Bullies

The lead rider stepped off his massive black motorcycle, his heavy leather boots crunching against the gravel as he stared straight at the cornered girl. Jax, a burly biker with a thick graying beard and a worn leather jacket, took a heavy step toward the sidewalk. The three teenagers shrank back immediately, bumping into each other as they backed away toward the wooden post holding the flag.

Jax: Is there a problem over here, boys?

Bully 1: Uh, no, sir... we were just... we were just talking.

Jax: Didn't look like talking to me. Looked like three cowards cornering a little girl on crutches.

Bully 2: We didn't do anything! We're leaving right now!

Jax: Yeah, you are. And you better move fast before I lose my patience.

The teenagers didn't say another word to anyone. They turned on their heels and sprinted down the street as fast as they could, disappearing into the thick crowd of festivalgoers. Lily stood shaking on her foam crutches, her small hands gripping the handles so tightly that her knuckles turned completely white. She squeezed her eyes shut, trying hard to stop her tears from flowing down her face.

Jax: Easy there, little lady. They're gone now.

Jax slowly walked over to her on the sidewalk. Despite his massive frame, broad shoulders, and dark leather vest, his footsteps were soft as he stopped right beside her. He slowly dropped down to one knee, bringing himself right down to eye level with the frightened eleven-year-old child.

Jax: MAYBE SOME PEOPLE WON'T IN TEXAS...

Lily opened her eyes slowly, looking into the rugged biker's weathered face. She sniffled softly, wiping her wet cheek with the top of her sleeve. Instead of anger or harshness, the man's dark eyes were filled with deep warmth and genuine empathy for her situation.

Lily: I... I thought they were gonna push me down on the street.

Jax: Nobody is pushing you down today, sweetheart. Not while we're standing right here.

Lily sniffled again, her chest heaving as she tried to calm her frantic breathing. Jax gently reached out and placed a large, calloused, protective hand on her small shoulder to steady her posture. Behind Jax, four more bikers dismounted their heavy bikes, stepping up onto the sidewalk with calm confidence.

Jax: BUT YOU FOUND THE ONES WHO WILL!

They stood in a wide arc around Lily, their heavy leather vests bearing dark patches from their local motorcycle club. The crowd around them began to slow down, watching the incredible scene unfold right before their eyes on the street.
