Victoria reached the bottom of the hill with her face bright red.
She yanked the stroller handle roughly out of Sarah's tired hands.
Victoria: Get your filthy hands off my precious baby right now!
Sarah: Mrs. Vance, I saved him! The brake was somehow turned off!
Victoria: She tried to sabotage the stroller! Stop her, somebody!
Two neighbors came running out from their front yards across the street.
They looked confused and shocked as Victoria began to weep loudly.
Victoria: My nanny just tried to push my baby down the hill!
Sarah: That is not true at all! I ran after him to stop it!
Victoria pointed a shaking finger right at Sarah's pale face.
Victoria: You intentionally unlocked the wheel safety brake before walking away!
Sarah felt her stomach drop into a deep, dark pit of fear.
She knew she had set the foot brake properly moments before.
She looked around at the neighbors, but they were staring with cold eyes.
Neighbor: That is terrible! Someone call the police immediately!
Victoria pulled out her gold phone and dialed three numbers quickly.
Victoria: Yes, police? My maid just tried to kill my infant son!
Sarah backed away slowly, shaking her head in complete disbelief.
She realized this was not a simple mistake or accident.
Victoria had planned this cruel moment to ruin her entire life.
The sound of loud police sirens echoed through the suburban neighborhood.
Two red and blue patrol cars pulled up to the gate with screeching tires.
Two tall officers stepped out and walked fast toward the scene.
Police Officer: What is going on here? Is the child okay?
Victoria: Officer, thank goodness you arrived so quickly today!
Victoria wiped away fake tears from her smooth, powdered cheeks.
Victoria: I caught my nanny pushing the stroller down this steep hill!
Sarah: Officer, please listen to me! I would never hurt a baby!
Police Officer: Ma'am, stay right where you are and keep your hands visible.
The main officer turned his strict gaze toward the pale nanny.
Police Officer: Do you have any proof to back up your claim, ma'am?
Victoria: I saw it with my own eyes, and I am the mother!
Sarah's mind was racing as she tried to think of a way out.
She was just a poor girl with no power or rich lawyer to help her.
If she went to prison, her sick mother would lose her hospital care.
The officer pulled out his steel handcuffs with a loud metallic click.
Police Officer: Officers, arrest her for attempted murder right now!
Sarah: No! Please! You are making a huge mistake!
The second officer grabbed Sarah's wrist and pulled her arms behind her back.
Victoria smiled a tiny, evil smile when the police turned their heads.
Sarah felt completely hopeless as the cold metal wrapped around her wrists.
She looked up at the high mansion porch one last desperate time.
A small shadow was standing behind the tall glass window on the second floor.
