The Stroller On The Hill

A Wealthy Woman tried To Frame Her Innocent Nanny

The morning sun was shining bright over the rich hills of Oak Valley.

Sarah adjusted her plain blue apron as she walked up the long driveway.

She had worked as a nanny for the Vance family for two years.

Every single day brought new chores and cold words from her wealthy boss.

Victoria Vance stood on the high marble porch holding a hot cup of coffee.

She looked down at Sarah with a sharp and icy glare.

Victoria: You are late by two whole minutes, Sarah.

Sarah: I am so sorry, Mrs. Vance, but the bus was delayed.

Victoria: I do not care about your silly excuses at all.

Sarah took a deep breath and kept her head held low.

She needed this job to pay for her mother's high medical bills.

The family mansion was giant and full of expensive glass statues.

Little Lily was sitting in her high chair in the sunny breakfast room.

The ten-year-old girl smiled happily the moment she saw Sarah enter.

Lily: Good morning, Sarah! Did you bring my favorite storybook today?

Sarah: I sure did, sweetie, right here in my bag.

Victoria walked into the room with loud, heavy footsteps on the tile.

She grabbed her designer purse from the polished granite table.

Victoria: Stop wasting time chatting and take the baby outside right now.

Sarah: Yes, ma'am, I will prepare the stroller immediately.

Sarah carried little baby Timmy out to the steep front garden path.

The mansion was built right on top of a very tall hill.

A sharp concrete slope went all the way down toward a busy street.

Sarah always made sure to double-check the wheel brakes every time.

She set the heavy black stroller near the top of the stone steps.

Victoria followed them outside while holding her gold smart phone.

She stared at Sarah with an odd look in her dark eyes.

Victoria: Step away from the stroller and fetch my coat from inside.

Sarah: Of course, Mrs. Vance, I will be right back.

Sarah turned around and walked toward the heavy wooden front doors.

Suddenly, she heard the fast crunch of gravel behind her boots.

She spun around quickly and gasped in pure terror.

The heavy stroller was rolling fast down the steep concrete slope.

Victoria was standing right at the top with her hands in the air.

Victoria: Oops! Lost my grip! Someone save the baby!

Sarah did not hesitate for even a single short second.

She sprinted down the sharp hill as fast as her legs could go.

Her sneakers slipped on the smooth stone, but she kept balance.

The stroller was gaining speed toward the main road below.

Sarah reached out her arms with every bit of strength she had left.

Her fingers caught the padded leather handle just in time.

She pulled back hard and locked her feet into the soft grass.

The heavy stroller ground to a sudden halt near the iron gate.

Sarah dropped to her knees, panting for air in the warm dust.

Sarah: I've got you... You're safe now, little one.

Baby Timmy started to cry softly, but he was completely unharmed.

Sarah held the stroller handle tight, her heart pounding in her chest.

She looked up the long hill toward the giant mansion porch.

Victoria was running down the steps with a wild expression on her face.

She was shouting at the top of her lungs for the neighbors to hear.
