Vanessa looked around the room, realizing that every eye was fixed on her.
The guests were whispering to one another with looks of deep disgust on their faces.
Vanessa: Richard, please understand, I was just stressed out about the wedding planning!
Richard: You showed your true colors tonight, Vanessa, and I am grateful I saw them in time.
Vanessa: We can fix this in private, darling, please do not do this here!
Richard: There is nothing to fix because there is no wedding anymore.
Marcus opened his legal briefcase and pulled out the estate document they had discussed earlier.
Marcus: It is a good thing you had not signed the revised marriage prenup yet, Richard.
Vanessa: What are you talking about, Marcus?
Marcus: Vanessa had her own attorney draft a clause transferring thirty percent of your business assets to her upon marriage.
Richard looked at Marcus in pure shock before turning back to Vanessa.
Richard: You were using me for my wealth from the very first day, weren't you?
Vanessa: That is not true, Richard, I loved you!
Richard: If you loved me, you would have treated my daughter with kindness and love.
Lily: Daddy, she told me she was going to send me to a boarding school far away...
Richard felt a deep chill run through his chest as he looked at his crying child.
He could not believe he had let such a cruel woman into his home and near his daughter.
Richard: You were planning to get rid of my daughter as soon as you got my money.
Vanessa: She is a child, Richard, she needs discipline!
Richard: She needs love, which you are clearly incapable of giving to anyone but yourself.
Richard raised his hand and signaled the two security guards standing at the ballroom entrance.
The guards immediately started walking quickly toward the main table.
