A Confrontation In The Boardroom

A Wealthy Father Discovers What His New Bride Did

Victoria's sweet expression faltered for a fraction of a second before she smoothed her features back into a calm smile. She walked down two steps, placing her hand gently on the polished wooden railing while looking at Mark with innocent eyes. She believed she still had full control over the situation and that Mark was simply having a short emotional reaction about his daughter. She did not know that Mark had spent the last two hours unearthing her entire past and collecting undeniable video proof of her cruel actions inside the mansion.

Victoria: What do you mean, darling? The board meeting is scheduled for Friday at the corporate office.

Mark: I called an emergency session, Victoria. Arthur is arriving in ten minutes, along with two representatives from the trust board.

Victoria: Why would you involve Arthur without discussing it with me first?

Mark: Because this involves the safety of my daughter and the future of this entire estate.

Victoria's eyes narrowed slightly, her calm exterior finally showing thin cracks of annoyance. She stepped down the remaining stairs and followed Mark into the grand living room, where high ceilings and large windows looked out over the front manicured lawn. She crossed her arms over her chest, stepping right into Mark's path to block him from moving further into the room. She was used to getting her way by using charm or raising her voice, but the look in Mark's eyes was colder than anything she had ever encountered before.

Victoria: You are overreacting because of a silly misunderstanding on the patio, Mark. I am your wife. You need to show me respect in this house.

Mark: You locked a seven-year-old child outside in ninety-degree heat because she was being loud. Is that what you call respect?

Victoria: She needs discipline! You spoil her endlessly because of your late wife, and it is ruining her character!

Mark: Do not speak her name. You do not have the right to utter a single word about my late wife.

Before Victoria could offer another sharp reply, the front door bell rang throughout the mansion. Mark walked past her without another word and opened the front door to welcome Arthur Miller, along with two senior board members from the estate management firm. Following right behind them were two uniformed Dallas police officers, their quiet presence instantly changing the mood in the luxurious entryway. Victoria stood in the center of the living room, her face draining of all color as she saw the officers step into the marble foyer. She took an instinctively slow step backward, her hand clutching her small designer handbag tightly.

Arthur: Good afternoon, Mark. We have all the filed documents and court orders ready, just as you requested.

Victoria: What is the meaning of this?! Why are there police officers inside my home?!

Mark: This is not your home anymore, Victoria. Your time here is completely finished.

Victoria: You cannot throw me out! We are legally married, and I have rights under the prenuptial agreement!

Mark: That agreement was built on fraud, and I have every single proof needed to destroy it in court today.

Mark gestured for everyone to sit down at the large mahogany dining table in the adjacent room. Arthur pulled out a stack of thick legal files, placing them neatly on the wood surface alongside a laptop computer. Victoria remained standing near the doorway, her arms folded tight while her eyes darted nervously toward the front doors. She realized that the ground beneath her carefully constructed life was beginning to crack wide open, and there was no way for her to lie her way out of it this time.
