Victoria walked down the first three steps with a sharp look on her face.
Her green dress rustled against the dark wooden railing.
Victoria: You are just a child who does not understand money or business!
Leo: I know you are trying to trick my father!
Victoria: Your father trusts me completely with his life insurance and home!
Leo: He won't trust you after he sees what you did!
Victoria stepped forward abruptly to grab the young boy's arm.
Leo pulled his body back quickly to avoid her hands.
His small leather shoe slipped on the top edge of the smooth marble step.
The sudden loss of balance sent a surge of panic through his mind.
He gasped loudly as his body began to tilt backward toward the steep drops.
Leo: Help me!
Victoria did not reach out her hand to save the slipping child.
She stood still with a cold glare on her face.
Victoria: Get out of my life!
Sarah heard the sharp gasp echo through the vast foyer.
She dropped her yellow cleaning cloth onto the polished floor.

Sarah: Help!
Sarah sprinted as fast as she could across the vast marble space.
Her soft shoes squeaked loudly against the bright tile surface.
She reached the base of the staircase in a fraction of a second.
She threw her arms out wide to catch the falling child in midair.
Leo slammed into Sarah's warm chest with heavy impact.
They both tumbled onto the soft rug at the base of the stairs together.
Sarah held the young boy tight against her body to protect his head.
She took the full force of the landing on her shoulder.

Victoria walked slowly down the remaining steps with a sneer.
She looked down at the maid and the boy without any guilt.
Victoria: You are a foolish servant for interfering in family matters.
Sarah: Get your hands away from him!
Sarah stood up quickly and placed her body between Victoria and Leo.
Her face was red with genuine fury at the cruel woman.
