The golden chandeliers inside the grand ballroom of the Dallas hotel cast a warm glow over two hundred guests. Mark adjusted his black silk bow tie in front of a mirror decorated with framed American flag artwork. His heart beat fast with excitement because in less than an hour, he was going to marry Sarah, the woman he had loved for two years. His family had built a successful real estate empire in Texas, and today was meant to celebrate love, family, and the future of their family trust fund.
His three groomsmen stood near him, laughing and taking photos. They were drinking expensive champagne that cost hundreds of dollars per bottle. The caterers walked softly across the polished white marble floor, carrying trays of iced seafood and crystal glasses. Everything looked flawless, just as Sarah had planned over the last six months. Mark took a deep breath, feeling like the luckiest man alive in his tailor-made tuxedo.
A young waitress named Hannah walked into the groom's suite carrying a fresh tray of drinks. She wore a crisp white shirt and a clean black apron. She kept her head down, but her eyes were sharp, scanning the room with a look of extreme anxiety. She had worked at this venue for three years to pay off her mother's medical bills, and she was known as one of the most reliable workers on the staff.
Groomsman David: Here is to the happiest man in Dallas! Drink up, Mark!
Mark: Thanks, brother. To new beginnings and a beautiful future!
Mark lifted his crystal champagne flute to his lips, closing his eyes to take a sip. Before the sparkling liquid could touch his mouth, a white sleeve flashed through the air. Hannah moved with lightning speed, striking his forearm with a firm, sharp slap. The glass flew out of Mark's fingers, soaring through the air before slamming violently onto the polished white marble floor. Champagne and broken crystal shattered across the pristine floor, splashing against the trousers of his custom tuxedo.
The entire room went completely silent. The ambient sounds of party music and soft murmurs died instantly. The three groomsmen froze in shock, their mouths wide open as they stared at the scattered liquid on the floor. Mark stepped back, his eyes burning with sudden anger as he stared at the young waitress standing before him.
Mark: WHAT ARE YOU DOING, IDIOT?! Are you out of your mind?!
Hannah: Sir, please! Do not drink that glass!
Mark: You just ruined a three hundred dollar glass of champagne and ruined my tuxedo! I will have you fired right now!
Hannah: You don't understand, sir! I am not crazy. Please listen to me for one second!
Hannah did not flinch or look away. She stood her ground, her body trembling slightly from adrenaline, but her voice remained firm and commanding. She pulled a high-definition smartphone out of her black apron pocket and held it directly in front of Mark's face. Her face was flushed, but her eyes held a steady, serious look that forced Mark to stop shouting.
Hannah: YOUR FIANCÉE MIXED SOMETHING IN YOUR DRINK!
Mark: What did you just say about Sarah?
Hannah: Look at this screen right now, sir. Watch the video before you say another word.
