Evelyn stood frozen at the top of the grand staircase with wide pale eyes.
Her blue shirt fluttered slightly in the draft of the wide high ceiling room.
She had not realized Richard was inside the house during her cruel action.
Richard stood up slowly while cradling Lily safely inside his strong arms.
His eyes burned with absolute rage as he stared up at his wife.
Richard: What on earth were you just trying to do to my child?
Evelyn: Richard, darling, you completely misunderstood what just happened up here!
Richard: I heard every single cold word that came out of your mouth!
Evelyn: She tripped on her own shoelaces and I tried to grab her!
Lily: She pushed my shoulder and said nobody would care about me!
Richard: You absolute heartless monster!
Richard carried Lily carefully over to the leather couch in the nearby living room.
He told the brave girl to stay seated while he handled the situation.
Then he marched back toward the staircase with heavy determination in every step.
Evelyn backed up slowly along the upper hallway as Richard climbed the stairs.
Her face lost all color as she realized her comfortable life was ending.
Evelyn: Please calm down, we can talk about this like rational adults!
Richard: There is nothing left for us to talk about, you dangerous snake!
Evelyn: I gave up my life in the city to move here!
Richard: You moved here to steal my family money and abuse my child!
Richard reached the top landing and stepped directly into Evelyn's private space.
He pointed a strict shaking finger right at her shocked pale face.
Richard: Get out of my house before I destroy you completely!
Evelyn: You cannot just throw me out without giving me my share!
Richard: You will not receive a single penny from me or my estate!
Evelyn tried to push past him toward the master bedroom to grab bags.
Richard blocked her path firmly and demanded her immediate departure from the home.
