A Hidden Gold Medallion

A Spilled Wine Glass Uncovered Her Missing Family Legacy

Clara gasped in horror as she pulled back her hands immediately.

Clara: Forgive me, it was an accident!

She pulled a cloth napkins from her apron to wipe the spill.

Damon slammed his palm onto the wooden table with a loud bang.

Damon: Look what you did to my custom suit!

Clara stepped back quickly, shielding her infant child with both arms.

As she pulled back, her uniform shirt collar pulled slightly to the side.

A thick silver chain slipped out from under her plain cotton collar.

Hanging on the end was an old carved medallion with a distinct crest.

Arthur Pendelton stepped forward from behind Damon's high leather chair.

His eyes locked onto the small silver medallion resting against her chest.

His face went completely pale as his hands began to tremble visibly.

Arthur: Wait... where did you get that medallion?

Clara reached up nervously, clutching the cold metal against her fingers.

Clara: I was wearing it when I was abandoned as a child.

Arthur took three hasty steps toward her, ignoring the mess on the table.

Arthur: That crest... it belonged to my missing daughter!

Damon glared up at Arthur with deep suspicion and annoyance.

Damon: Arthur, what on earth are you talking about right now?

Arthur: Twenty-four years ago, my baby girl was taken from our home.

Clara stared at the elderly man in complete shock and disbelief.

Clara: I never knew who my real parents were.

Arthur: My wife made that custom medallion before she passed away.

Damon stood up from his chair, his tall frame looming over them.

Damon: We are in the middle of a business dinner!
