Rebuilding Broken Bonds

A Mother Demanded The Bride Strip Until She Saw It

Eleanor slowly pushed herself up from the hard wooden floor using chairs.

She walked toward Clara with small, hesitant steps, bowing her head down.

The arrogance she carried for years was completely gone from her eyes.

Eleanor: I do not expect you to forgive my terrible actions today.

Clara: You ruined my dress and tried to ruin my whole life.

Eleanor: I was blind and foolish, blinded by silly wealth and status.

She reached into her closet and pulled out a soft silk robe.

She placed it gently over Clara's bare shoulders to cover her dress.

Julian stepped forward and wrapped his arm around his long-lost sister.

Julian: We need to fix this dress right now before the wedding.

Eleanor: My personal seamstress is downstairs right now in the lobby.

Eleanor called the seamstress up to the room with a shaky voice.

The skilled woman worked quickly to repair the torn back zipper completely.

Within thirty minutes, the white lace dress looked perfect once again.

Eleanor stood near the doorway, not daring to come any closer now.

She watched her daughter fix her veil in the large bedroom mirror.

Eleanor: Clara... will you still let me attend your special wedding?

Clara turned around and looked at the older woman's tear-stained face.

She felt a mix of anger and deep pity inside her heart.

She knew that holding onto hate would only ruin her new future.

Clara: You can stay, but we have many long conversations ahead of us.

Eleanor: I will spend the rest of my life making this right.

Julian smiled warmly and grabbed both of their hands in his own.

The dark storm that filled the house had finally begun to pass.

The truth had brought pain, but it also brought a lost family back.
