The heavy front doors burst open with a loud bang.

Officer Miller knelt down next to Mark and Clara.
The second officer blocked Eleanor from stepping any closer.
Eleanor: Officer you must understand this was an accident!
Officer Hayes: Step back ma'am until we secure the scene.
Paramedics rushed inside carrying a large orange medical kit.
They placed Clara gently onto a padded white stretcher.
They began checking her pulse and checking her abdomen.
Clara held onto Mark's suit lapel with all her strength.
Clara: Thank you for saving us Mark...
Mark: I will never let anyone hurt you again.
Officer Miller turned his attention to the older woman.
He took out a small notebook from his pocket.
Officer Miller: Sir, did you see what happened up there?
Mark: I saw my mother push Clara over that railing.
Eleanor: That is a complete lie from my own son!
Officer Hayes: Ma'am you need to remain silent right now.
Eleanor backed away toward the grand stone fireplace mantel.
Her hands trembled as she clutched her pearl necklace.
