Victoria turned her head quickly to look at the high corner camera.
A brief flash of sheer panic crossed her face before she quickly smiled.
She waved her hand dismissively, trying to sound completely calm and relaxed.
Victoria: That camera has been broken and completely dead for six months!
Victoria: You know that very well, Elena! Stop stalling for time!
Marcus: Actually, Victoria... I had the technician fix it this morning.
Victoria froze instantly, the color draining completely from her fake smiling face.
Marcus looked at her with a sudden sharp, suspicious glint in his eyes.
He called the head of estate security on his cell phone speakerphone.
Marcus: Bring up the live backyard pool footage on the main outdoor television display.
The security guard responded immediately over the crisp phone speaker line.
A few seconds later, the large outdoor television screen powered on automatically.
The high-definition video feed showed the quiet pool area from fifteen minutes ago.
Everyone stood in complete silence as the clear video footage played back.
The screen clearly showed Elena carefully pushing the stroller near the table.
It showed her bending down and clicking both wheel safety brakes firmly into place.
Then the video showed Elena walking inside through the heavy glass door.
Victoria was seen looking around carefully to ensure nobody was watching her.
She casually stretched out her right leg toward the stroller's back wheel.
With a deliberate kick, she disengaged the safety brake mechanism entirely.
Then she placed her foot against the stroller frame and shoved it hard.
The footage showed the stroller rolling fast and plunging deep into the pool.
It clearly showed Victoria sitting back down calmly, smiling to herself briefly.
Only when Elena dived into the water did Victoria stand up and scream.
The undeniable video proof was displayed in crisp, clear color for everyone to see.
Marcus stared at the television screen, his face turning bright crimson with rage.
