Nanny Megan: Bring the signed land deed to the old marina south pier.
Mark: I will sign whatever you want, just do not hurt him!
Nanny Megan: You have twenty minutes before I get on a private boat.
The call went completely dead with a sharp click on the telephone line.
Sarah grabbed Mark's arm hard, her fingernails pressing into his skin.
Sarah: The marina is five miles away, we have to drive right now!
They ran out through the front garage, leaving the large doors wide open.
Mark jumped into the driver seat of his black SUV and started the engine.
The tires squealed loudly on the concrete driveway as he backed out fast.
Sarah stared out the passenger window, watching every passing car on the road.
Sarah: What if she did not take him to the marina at all?
Mark: She wants the paper deed to the estate, so she will be there.
Mark slammed his foot down on the gas pedal, speeding toward the coast.
They pulled up to the abandoned dock area near the salty ocean water.
The sun was high in the sky, reflecting blinding white off the waves.
A silver rental sedan was parked right beside an old rusty boat slip.
Mark cut the engine and grabbed the leather folder from the dashboard.
They both threw their doors open and stepped onto the wooden dock planks.
Megan was standing near the edge of the pier, holding a small blanket.
Nanny Megan: You are three minutes late, Mark, but I see the folder.
Sarah: Show me my baby right now, Megan, let me see his face!
Megan pulled back the edge of the blue blanket she held in her arms.
Inside the blanket was nothing more than a soft stuffed teddy bear.
Sarah: No, no! Where is he? What did you do with him?
Nanny Megan: Did you really think I would bring him to the meeting spot?
Megan pulled a folded paper out of her jacket and smiled cruelly.
