Within minutes, the loud sound of police sirens echoed down Oak Lane and stopped outside the grand estate gates.
The heavy double front doors burst open once again as three uniform Dallas police officers briskly entered the grand foyer.
They walked past the framed American flag hanging on the wall, their heavy boots clicking loudly against the marble floor.
Mark stepped forward with his arm around Lily, using his other hand to show the officers the video on his phone.
"Officers, this woman assaulted my daughter and tried to steal from her trust fund," Mark explained clearly to them.
The lead officer looked at the clear security video screen and then turned his stern focus straight toward Victoria.
"Ma'am, keep your hands where we can see them," the lead officer commanded as he stepped near her side.
Victoria backed up against the hallway wall, crying out in anger as the officers quickly grabbed her arms behind her back.
"You're coming with us!" the officer said firmly as metal handcuffs clicked tight around Victoria's soft silk wrists.
"Mark, please don't do this to me! Think of our marriage!" Victoria sobbed as she was led toward the door.
"Our marriage ended the second you hurt my daughter," Mark answered as he turned his back on her completely.
The police officers escorted Victoria down the front stone steps and loaded her into the back of the cruiser.
Mark knelt down on the white floor once more and brought Lily into a warm, safe, and loving embrace.
"She is gone now, sweetheart," Mark whispered softly as tears of relief fell down his own tired face.
"You are completely safe, and nobody will ever hurt you in this house again as long as I live."
Lily wrapped her small arms around her father's neck, holding on tight as the loud police car drove away.
