The house security guards rushed into the foyer right away.
They heard the loud crash from the outer front gate.
David ordered the guards to block the main exit doors.
David: Nobody leaves this house until the police arrive.
Evelyn slowly walked down the white marble steps now.
Her hands were shaking against her silk teal blouse edges.
Evelyn: David, please listen to me for one moment.
Evelyn: It was an absolute accident, I swear it!
David: Do not take another step toward my child!
David set Lily down gently behind his tall frame.
He pointed his hand toward the wide upper hallway wall.
David: We have security cameras in every single hallway.
Evelyn's eyes widened with deep terror when he said that.
She forgot about the small black lenses near the lights.
David pulled his phone out and opened the house app.
He rewound the live footage from five minutes ago quickly.
The video clearly showed Evelyn grabbing Lily's arm roughly.
It showed Evelyn pulling the girl near the open edge.
It proved that Evelyn caused the dangerous stumble intentionally.
David showed the glowing phone screen to the security head.
David: Call the sheriff and my personal lawyer right now.
Evelyn stepped back toward the dark wood front door.
Evelyn: I was only trying to discipline her, David!
Evelyn: You spend all your time thinking about her!
David: You married me for the family trust money.
David: You wanted her out of the inheritance line.
Evelyn opened her mouth to argue, but no words came.
Her clever disguise was completely gone in an instant.
