Three months later, bright morning sunlight filled the luxury mansion entry room once more.
The heavy grey suitcase and fake papers were now just distant dark memories.
Legal justice had moved swiftly through the state courts over the summer weeks.
Victoria and Marcus faced long prison sentences for international fraud and child endangerment.
Julian sat on the wide outdoor patio reading through the final legal papers.
His daughter's trust fund money had been fully recovered and restored to safety.
Lily ran across the bright green grass holding a colorful yellow toy kite.
Her happy laughter echoed across the spacious yard in the fresh warm air.
Lily: Look how high it goes in the sky today, Daddy!
Julian smiled brightly as he stood up to join her on the lawn.
Julian: You are doing a wonderful job keeping it up high, Lily!
He wrapped his arm around her shoulders as they watched the kite fly.
The home was filled with real peace and true joy once again today.
No more secrets or lies could ever shatter the strong bond they shared.
Lily: I love our home so much now, Daddy.
Julian: I love it too, sweetheart, because you are safe here with me.
He knew that protecting his daughter was the greatest duty of his life.
They faced the bright warm future together with strong hope and deep love.
