Red and blue emergency lights flashed through the large front foyer glass windows.
The sharp sound of police sirens filled the quiet neighborhood outside the gates.
Two uniform officers walked quickly through the open front doors into the house.
They looked at the scene of the crying woman and the crouched manager.
Officer Ramirez: We received a priority call regarding child endangerment and fraud.
Julian pointed directly at Victoria and Marcus without any hesitation in his voice.
Julian: These two attempted to abduct my daughter with fake passport documents.
Officer Ramirez looked down at the open grey suitcase on the marble floor.
The small pillow and framed photo inside made the truth clear to everyone.
The second officer moved quickly toward Marcus and pulled out silver metal handcuffs.
Officer Chen: Stand up, sir. Put your hands behind your back right now.
Marcus stood up without fighting and offered his wrists to the police officer.
Marcus: I will cooperate fully with the state prosecutor about everything she did.
Victoria backed up toward the wall while her voice pitched high and loud.
Victoria: Do not touch me! I am the mistress of this house property!
Officer Ramirez: Ma'am, turn around and place your hands behind your back.
She cried loudly as the cold steel cuffs snapped around her thin wrists.
Julian held Lily close to his side so she would not look directly.
He rubbed her back in slow circles to keep her calm and secure.
Lily: Is the bad lady leaving our home forever now, Daddy?
Julian: She will never step foot inside this house ever again, sweetheart.
The officers guided Victoria and Marcus out through the heavy double front doors.
The front entrance grew peaceful and quiet as the police cars drove away.
Julian took a long breath of fresh air and kneeled down beside Lily.
He wiped the small dry tear marks from her soft young cheeks gently.
Julian: You were so brave today. You saved yourself and our family.
