Ten minutes later, bright red and blue lights flashed outside the front.
Two city police cars pulled up the long concrete driveway fast.
Victoria ran to the front entrance to try to control the story.
She pretended to be a frantic mother who was deeply worried.
Victoria: Officers, thank goodness you are finally here to help us!
Officer: We received an emergency call about an endangered child.
Victoria: My husband has locked himself inside with my poor daughter!
Mark unlocked his study door and walked out into the grand hallway.
He held Lily firmly by her hand as they walked forward together.
The officers turned away from Victoria and walked toward the father.
Mark: Officers, I am the one who called your main dispatcher.
Victoria: Do not listen to him, he is completely out of his mind!
Mark: I have high-definition video footage of what she did upstairs.
Victoria's face turned completely white when she heard the word video.
She backed away toward the open front door to try to escape.
One of the tall officers stepped directly into her exit path.
Mark handed a flash drive to the lead police officer right away.
The officer plugged the drive into a portable device he carried.
He watched the clear video clip of the push on the upper balcony.
The officer's expression turned stern as he looked up at Victoria.
Officer: Ma'am, you need to place your hands behind your back.
Victoria: You cannot arrest me in my own luxury mansion!
Officer: You are under arrest for dangerous assault and endangerment.
The officer snapped metal handcuffs tightly around Victoria's soft wrists.
She began to scream and cry loudly as they led her away.
Mark held Lily close so she would not have to watch.
