Mark remembered that he had installed security cameras near the roof line.
He kept the main control box locked inside his private home office.
Victoria did not know about the new cameras on the upper floor.
Mark looked Victoria straight in the eye without showing any fear.
Mark: You can leave this house right now, Victoria.
Victoria: I own half of this mansion under our legal prenup!
Mark: A judge will void that contract when he sees the truth.
Victoria: You have no proof of what happened on the balcony!
Mark turned his back and led Lily toward his private study room.
He locked the thick wooden door behind them to stay completely safe.
Lily sat quietly in a soft leather chair near the desk.
Mark logged into his computer terminal to check the video recordings.
He opened the camera feed from the top floor atrium balcony.
The video clearly showed Victoria cornering the young girl near the ledge.
It showed Victoria lifting her hand and grabbing Lily's yellow dress.
The footage was clear and showed total intent to harm the child.
Mark saved the digital file to a secure cloud drive immediately.
His hands shook as he watched the horrifying video once again.
He called his long-time lawyer and explained the whole situation quickly.
Lawyer: Stay inside the locked room until the police arrive, Mark.
Mark: I have the whole event saved on high-definition video.
Lawyer: That evidence will ensure she goes straight to prison today.
Mark looked at Lily and felt a massive wave of relief.
He walked over and pulled her into another warm embrace.
Outside the office door, they heard Victoria pounding her heels sharply.
She was shouting and demanding that Mark open the heavy door.
Victoria: Open this door right now or I will break it down!
Mark: You can scream all you want, Victoria!
Mark knew that justice was finally coming for his cruel wife.
