Evelyn: Security, call the police immediately. We have fraud, extortion, and attempted illegal adoption happening under our roof.
Chloe: You can't arrest me! I didn't fake a pregnancy! Victoria did!
Evelyn: You acted as a paid co-conspirator in an extortion scheme against my family’s trust fund. The lawyers will have a field day with you.
Victoria: Julian, please! Don't let them take me! Talk to me in private!
Julian stepped back, reaching into his jacket pocket. He pulled out his phone and dialed a direct line, his voice remarkably calm and cold.
Julian: Hello, Mark? This is Julian Vance. I need my divorce lawyer at the mansion right away. Prepare a total revocation of all spousal benefits and file an emergency annulment based on fraud.
Victoria: No! Julian, no! Please!
Julian: And freeze all joint bank accounts immediately.
Victoria fell to her knees on the marble floor, her gold dress pooling around her as she wept uncontrollably. Two uniformed security officers walked into the hall, standing on either side of Chloe and Victoria.
Security Officer: Ladies, please stand up and come with us without making a scene.
Chloe: Get your hands off me! Do you know who I am?!
Security Officer: You have the right to remain silent, ma'am. Let's go.
The crowd parted as the officers led Chloe away in handcuffs. Victoria dragged her feet, sobbing and pleading with Julian until her voice faded down the grand staircase.
Evelyn: I am so deeply sorry to all our guests for this disgraceful spectacle. The gala is officially over for tonight.
