Justice Prevails

Within thirty minutes, the quiet neighborhood was filled with the flashing red and blue lights of two police cruisers arriving at the Vance estate. The front double doors stood wide open, letting the cool breeze sweep away the lingering dark energy of the morning's evil events. Two police officers stepped briskly into the bright marble hall, their heavy boots clicking against the light floor.

Victoria was still sitting near the piano, weeping loudly, trying desperately to play the role of a mistreated wife to anyone who would listen.

Victoria: Officer! He hit me! Look at my face! He assaulted me in my own home!

Officer Davis: Ma'am, stay right where you are. Sir, what happened here today?

David: My wife just tried to kill my newborn son. She threw him over that piano. My maid caught the baby, and I have high-definition security cameras recording every single angle of this room.

Victoria's crying stopped instantly as her eyes darted up to the subtle black camera dome mounted high near the ceiling beam. She had completely forgotten that David had updated the house security system just last month to keep the baby safe.

Officer Davis looked at the tiny camera, then turned his gaze back down to Victoria with absolute disgust. He pulled out a pair of heavy steel handcuffs from his utility belt, stepping directly toward the woman in the red dress.

Officer Davis: Victoria Vance, you are under arrest for attempted felony child abuse and endangerment. Stand up and put your hands behind your back right now.

Victoria: No! You can't do this to me! David, tell them to stop! I am your wife!

David: You are nothing to me now. My divorce lawyer is already filing the paperwork, and you will not receive a single dollar from my estate.

The second officer secured the cold metal cuffs around Victoria's wrists, pulling her up from the floor. She struggled and screamed, her expensive red silk dress turning wrinkled and dirty as she was dragged out through the front doors into the bright daylight, past the neighbors who were watching the scene from their lawns.

David watched her get pushed into the back of the police cruiser, feeling a massive weight lifting off his chest. He turned back around to look at the bright hall under the US flag. The morning sun was still shining warmly through the glass, making the white marble floors sparkle once again.

Sarah stood nearby, holding a clean warm blanket, offering a soft smile to her employer. David walked over to her, his face soft with genuine gratitude and deep emotional peace.

David: Sarah, I want you to step up as the primary manager of this home and Leo's head caregiver. I am doubling your salary and granting you full legal residence here as part of our family.

Sarah: Mr. Vance... I don't know what to say. I was just doing what was right.

David: Doing what was right saved my son's life. This home is safe now, and we are going to build a happy future together right here.

David looked down at little Leo, who was now sleeping peacefully in his arms, blissfully unaware of the danger that had passed. Truth, courage, and true love had protected the home, ensuring that justice prevailed over greed once and for all.
