The heavy oak double doors slammed open against the tall plaster walls of the grand entryway.
Arthur walked into the high-ceiling room with a leather briefcase held tightly in his right hand.
His gray hair was neat, but his sharp blue eyes burned with intense anger and cold determination.
Arthur: What is the meaning of this shameful commotion on your wedding morning, Sarah?
Sarah: Dad, Clara came in here and insulted my dress and tried to ruin my day!
Aunt Eleanor: That is a complete lie, Arthur, and I saw the whole thing happen myself!
Aunt Eleanor: Sarah grabbed Clara's silk dress and ripped it open without any warning at all!
Arthur looked down at his younger daughter's torn blue dress and his jaw set tight.
Arthur: Is this how you treat your pregnant sister inside my house, Sarah?
Sarah: She is not my real sister, she is just the girl you brought home years ago!
The entire living room fell dead silent as the harsh words hung cold in the air.
Ethan took a step forward with his teeth gritted in pure disgust at Sarah's words.
Ethan: I cannot believe I was actually going to marry a woman as heartless as you.
Sarah: You loved me enough when you thought I was inheriting the entire Dallas real estate portfolio!
Arthur: That portfolio belonged to Clara's biological mother long before I met yours, Sarah!
Sarah blinked twice as if she had been slapped across the face by her father's statement.
Sarah: What are you talking about, Dad, this mansion belongs to my mother's estate!
Arthur set his black leather briefcase down onto the heavy glass coffee table with a thud.
He popped the silver latches open and pulled out a stack of yellowing legal papers.
Arthur: Your mother signed a full prenuptial agreement when we got married thirty years ago.
Arthur: She agreed that this house and the trust fund belong strictly to Clara's bloodline.
Clara gasped soft as she looked at her father in complete shock and disbelief.
Clara: Dad, why did you never tell me about these inheritance documents before today?
Arthur: I wanted you girls to love each other as real sisters without money getting in between.
Arthur: But Sarah has proven today that her heart is filled only with greed and hatred.
Sarah stepped toward the glass table and reached for the legal stack with shaking fingers.
Sarah: Give me those papers right now, they do not mean anything after all these years!
Arthur slammed his heavy palm down on top of the pages before she could touch them.
