Mark pulled the thick binders out of the steel box very carefully.
He laid the old papers flat on the wooden table under the light.
Mark: My late brother claimed these original deeds were completely destroyed.
Sarah: You mean your brother lied to the family estate lawyers?
Mark: He tried to take total control of the company two years ago.
Leo looked closely at a small golden key lying inside the safe.
Leo: What does this little gold key unlock, Dad?
Mark: I have never seen that specific small key in my life.
Mark picked up the small golden key and turned it around slowly.
A small metal tag was attached to the key ring with fine wire.
The tag had a bank locker number stamped into its smooth brass surface.
Sarah: That locker is located at the central downtown bank branch.
Mark: We need to go down to that bank first thing tomorrow morning.
Leo: Can we fix the big hole in the library wall now?
Mark: We will keep that hidden door right where it is, son.
Mark picked up his young boy and hugged him very tightly indeed.
Mark: You saved our entire family home today by being so brave.
Sarah: I am sorry I did not believe you earlier about the sounds.
Leo: It is okay, because Grandpa was really knocking from the tape!
The family walked back up the stone steps into the bright library.
Mark carefully closed the heavy iron door behind them inside the wall.
He placed the broken piece of painted canvas back over the frame temporarily.
The house was quiet again, but everything had completely changed for them.
Mark: Tomorrow morning, we go confront my brother at his office.
Sarah: Make sure you bring all those legal documents with you, Mark.
