A Cold Welcome Home

A Bitter Mother In Law Forced Her To Leave Today

Elena stood in front of the tall iron gates of the Sterling estate.

She held her small suitcase with both hands.

The sun was shining down on the massive white mansion.

Elena took a deep breath to calm her racing heart.

She had married Julian just three days ago in a quiet courthouse ceremony.

Julian was the sole heir to a massive family fortune.

Elena came from a small town with very little money.

She knew his family did not approve of their sudden marriage.

Julian opened the heavy front door and smiled down at her.

Julian: Welcome to your new home, my love.

Elena: It is so large and beautiful, Julian.

Julian: It is your home now too, so do not feel nervous.

They walked into the bright and spacious entryway together.

An older woman stood at the top of the grand marble staircase.

She wore a dark silk dress and looked down with cold eyes.

This was Victoria Sterling, Julian's strict mother.

Victoria walked down the steps with slow and heavy strides.

Victoria: So you actually brought this girl into my house.

Julian: Mother, please be nice to Elena.

Julian: She is my wife now, and you need to respect her.

Victoria: A wife without a dime to her name is no real wife.

Elena looked down at the shiny floor in deep shame.

Elena: I love your son very much, Mrs. Sterling.

Victoria: You love his money and his social status.

Julian stepped between his mother and his new bride.

Julian: That is enough, Mother!

Julian: We are going to our room to unpack our bags.

Julian led Elena up the stairs, holding her hand tightly.

Victoria watched them leave with a bitter look on her face.

She was determined to get rid of Elena as soon as possible.

Later that evening, Julian had to leave for an urgent business meeting.

Julian: I will be back in two hours, sweetie.

Elena: Okay, I will wait for you upstairs.

Julian kissed her forehead and walked out to his car.

Elena felt a chill run down her spine as the house grew quiet.

She knew she was now completely alone with Victoria.
