Titan moved through the heavy snow with unbelievable speed and sharp focus.
His nose stayed glued to the frozen footprints along the narrow forest path.
Officer Mark held the long leash firmly while stepping over fallen tree branches.
The sound of snap twigs echoed through the quiet winter woods ahead of them.
Officer Mark: Titan, steady boy. Keep your eyes open wide.
Around a sharp bend in the trail, a man was trudging through slush.
The man carried a heavy canvas bag filled with stolen metal copper piping.
He stopped in his tracks when he heard the heavy footsteps behind him.
The suspect turned around and saw the massive police dog approaching fast.
Suspect: Stay back away from me! Keep that dog away!
Officer Mark: Police officer! Stop right where you are and drop the bag!
The suspect dropped the heavy canvas bag onto the snow covered forest ground.
He reached into his thick winter coat with a sudden and suspicious movement.
Officer Mark put his hand on his holster as tension filled the air.
Officer Mark: Show me your hands immediately! Do not reach inside!
Titan let out a deep, powerful bark that echoed across the entire valley.
The dog did not hesitate for even a single second in his duty.
He lunged forward on the long lead and stood directly before the suspect.
The sheer presence of the trained police dog made the suspect freeze completely.
The man raised both of his gloved hands high up into the air.
Suspect: Okay, okay! I give up! Don't let him bite!
Officer Mark: Get down on your knees right now with hands behind your head!
The suspect sank down into the deep snow without making another single move.
Officer Mark moved in quickly and placed metal handcuffs onto the man's wrists.
He checked the dropped canvas bag and found heavy wire cutting tools inside.
Officer Mark: You put dozens of children in danger for a few dollars.
Suspect: I didn't think anyone would get hurt out in the park today.
Officer Mark: A little girl almost lost her life because of your greed.
Backup police officers arrived through the woods to take the suspect into custody.
They led the arrested man away through the snow toward the waiting cars.
Officer Mark bent down and stroked Titan's wet fur with deep pride.
Officer Mark: You caught him, boy. You saved the whole town today.
Titan gave a happy bark and licked the officer's cold cheek playfully.
The two partners walked back out of the woods toward the park entrance.
A large crowd was still waiting near the snow covered playground area.
