Justice Prevails At Last

When My Wedding Dress Was Torn I Called My Dad

Two police officers walked quickly through the wooden garden gates into the venue.

Arthur pointed directly at Victoria, who was shrinking back behind her trembling husband.

Arthur: Officers, that woman assaulted my daughter and tore her expensive dress.

Officer: Ma'am, please step forward and keep your hands visible at all times.

Victoria began to cry loudly as the officer put steel handcuffs on her wrists.

Victoria: Richard, do something! Call our lawyer right now to get me out!

Richard: I can't do anything, Victoria... we are completely ruined now.

The guests watched in silence as the officers led Victoria down the grass path.

Mark looked up from the ground with red, teary eyes at Clara's face.

Mark: Clara, please forgive me for not protecting you faster when she came.

Clara: You stayed quiet when she tore my gown, Mark. That broke my heart.

Mark: I was scared and confused, but I love you and our unborn baby!

Clara: Love means standing up for me no matter who is attacking us.

Arthur gently put his arm around Clara and guided her away from Mark.

Arthur: Let's go home, Clara. My car is waiting right outside the gate.

Clara: Yes, Dad. I want to leave this place and start over fresh.

Mark reached out his hand, but he did not dare step closer to Arthur.

Mark: Can we at least talk about our baby's future together in private?

Clara: We will talk through lawyers about custody, but this wedding is over.

Clara turned her back on the altar and walked down the aisle proudly.

The American flag flapped in the light breeze as she left the garden forever.
